About GDS
An accountability partner for commercial real estate, not another vendor with a key to your riser room.
Who we are
Riser.Management is the infrastructure governance platform of GDS Technology, a commercial technology and cybersecurity firm that has served businesses and property organizations since 2005. GDS was built on a straightforward conviction: technology should work proactively to prevent problems, not scramble to react after they happen. That belief, paired with old-fashioned values of honesty, hard work, and dedication, is why property managers, law firms, medical practices, CPA firms, and co-working operators across Georgia and Indiana trust GDS with the systems their operations depend on.
For two decades, our work has happened inside commercial buildings: structured cabling, physical security, connectivity, and fully managed technology and security operations. That vantage point, literally in the walls, is where riser.management comes from. We kept seeing the same pattern building after building. Critical infrastructure that no one owned. Changes made by vendors no one verified. A documented history that did not exist. riser.management brings the GDS discipline to the question ownership actually cares about: who is accountable for the infrastructure this building runs on?
Why governance, not just management
Most riser management providers manage a door and a fee schedule. GDS approaches buildings the way we approach any critical system: with documented ownership, controlled change, verified access, and evidence. We call it Zero Trust Infrastructure Governance, and it means no vendor, carrier, technician, or contractor is assumed authorized simply because they arrived onsite.
A firm that has spent twenty years managing and securing the technology inside buildings knows exactly what undocumented change costs an owner over time. Governance is simply what we would want if we owned the asset ourselves.
Two operations centers, national reach
GDS runs day-to-day operations from two hubs, in metro Atlanta and metro Indianapolis. Those are where our teams live and where our fastest response geography sits, but they are not the edge of where we work. GDS has delivered infrastructure and technology projects well beyond Georgia and Indiana, and for portfolio owners we follow the assets.
Norcross, Georgia
3050 Business Park Drive, Suite G · 404-719-5222
Southeast operations center, in the heart of Gwinnett County's technology corridor. Home-market coverage across metro Atlanta: from the urban core through Buckhead, Midtown, Perimeter, Cumberland, and the northern arc.
Carmel, Indiana
450 E. 96th Street, Suite 500 · 317-663-9743
Midwest operations center at Carmel Gateway, a campus GDS helped engineer. Coverage across the Indianapolis metro and Hamilton County's growth markets: Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and Westfield.
Beyond our home markets
When a client operates across multiple states, so do we, bringing the same standard to every market rather than handing you off to a different local vendor in each one. So if your portfolio reaches beyond Georgia and Indiana, that is worth a conversation. We have supported owners well outside our home markets, and we are set up to do it again.
Every building, not just portfolios
Portfolio thinking does not mean portfolio-only, either. A single suburban office building carries the same carriers, the same code obligations, and the same liability exposure as a trophy tower. Smaller properties get the same programs, scaled to fit, because the risks do not shrink with the square footage.
Why GDS
- Owner-first posture. We represent the property, not the carriers. Documentation is built as an ownership asset, portable across vendors and management changes.
- Full lifecycle coverage. Outside plant, building entrance, risers and telecom rooms, shared power and environment, rooftop and wireless. One program, not five vendors.
- Life safety seriousness. ERRCS/ERCES, public safety DAS, and emergency communications governed with the change control and documentation first responder systems deserve.
- Qualified and accountable. Licensing, insurance, OSHA-programmed safety, and documentation standards, the same qualification bar we tell owners to hold every vendor to.
- Education before selling. Through Built Wired Secured and our Resource Center, we help property teams think differently about infrastructure, whether or not they ever hire us.
Credentials and recognition
Governance is only as credible as the people behind it. GDS holds security and compliance credentials that speak directly to the questions ownership and tenants now face.
GCIR
Galactic Certified Incident Responder. Formal incident-response training: establishing exactly who did what, when, and how to prove it. The same instinct that drives how we document every infrastructure change.
GC3
Galactic Certified Compliance Consultant. Compliance expertise that connects building infrastructure to the frameworks your tenants answer to, including CMMC and SOC 2.
Titans of the Industry
2025 Southeast Finalist. Recognized among the region's leading technology service providers.
Leadership
GDS is led by Managing Partner Jonathan Fitzgerald, best-selling author of The Cyber Playbook and a voice featured in Inc. Magazine and the industry press, alongside a team of practitioners who have spent their careers in commercial building technology: design, installation, operations, security, and governance. You will meet the people who actually run your program during the assessment process, not after the contract is signed.
